An introduction to H&M Interiors
Established 2003
H&M Interiors is a family run, truly bespoke furniture company based in Earls Colne, an Essex village set in the beautiful Colne Valley. Husband and wife Mark and Heather founded H&M Interiors in 2003.
Mark is a cabinetmaker with over 25 years experience and is highly regarded for his meticulous attention to detail and commitment to good craftsmanship.
Heather is an industrial and product designer with many years experience working for both architectural and interior design companies based in and around London. She loves to draw and bring projects to life using a combination of technical drawing, free hand sketching and watercolours.
In 2003, it made perfect sense for Heather and Mark to start up their own design and furniture making company. Over the past few years they have built a first class reputation for quality, genuine passion for their work and the attention to detail that goes in to designing and making handmade furniture.
A large proportion of work comes from customer recommendation and many customers return again and again for further projects.
The workshop and main office and showroom are situated next to each other. This is of unique benefit for our customers who can actually witness their furniture being made first hand. There are no stock items and no two projects would ever be the same. We do not have ‘ranges’ to order from. Each design is unique.

Care, precision & individuality
We work closely with you to personally hand design and hand make every piece of furniture to your individual needs.
The first step is to visit your home and carry out an initial site survey taking note of particular architectural features, styles and measurements. We will discuss in detail all of your design requirements including finishes and colours.
We produce 'to scale' plans, elevations, sketch perspectives, specification and estimates for your approval. This gives you a really detailed picture of what the finished product will be once it's completed. All designs are hand drawn, something that our customers truly love, because it it is so personal and really helps bring the project to life.
Once you are happy with your design, we will start production on your furniture, carefully handcrafting every detail to your individual specifications. Your handmade furniture is then set up in the workshop to give you a viewing prior to installation. This is always an exciting time as you get to see your designs come to life.
